Lund, Chrisler Headed to State Cross Country Meet, Boys Narrowly Miss Qualifying

Ashton Lund and Carley Chrisler will represent Natoma at the State Cross Country Meet this Saturday, November 2 at Wamego.  They will run at 10:00 a.m.  Ashton finished 3rd among 52 runners at the Regional meet in Tribune on October 26.  Carley finished in 15th with a season best time.  She will be competing at State for the 2nd time in three years.  To qualify for State as a team, the boys needed to finish in the top four.  Unfortunately, they were 5th.  There were 70 boys in the race with Logan Pruter leading the way for the Tigers with a 27th place finish.  He was followed by Jayce Dickerson (34th), Nicholas Racette (36th and season best time), Jayson Engling (38th), and Derek George (39th).   All of the athletes participated in volleyball or football as well this season.    Therefore, they should be commended for the extra time and effort each of them put in during the fall sports seasons.
