TIGERS COMPETE WELL AT STATE TRACK MEET

The Tigers finished the season with a great State Meet. On Friday, Kourtney Grafel competed in the high jump for the 4th year and finished in 9th place (one place from medal contention).  Jacob Chambray and Bryce Ginther competed in the 3200 and finished 11th and 14th respectively.  Joey Raat was in the high jump where he was unable to clear the opening height but came back strong in the triple jump to finish 4th.  Dean Masters ran the 400 preliminaries but failed to qualify for finals after finishing in 12th.  Saturday was a new day with Raat competing in the long jump.  Fighting a hip injury he finished 16th.  The boys 4 x 800 relay team with Chambray, Masters (who replaced Raat), Grady Dickerson, and Taitem Zeigler ran their way to a season best (by 13 seconds) to a 2nd place finish.  Ginther was then in the 1600 where he was a 12th place finisher.  After Masters had run a tremendous leg in the relay, he put in another good time to earn the 5th place medal.  Regan Casey who had suffered an injury was unable to compete in her two events.  Of this group, Grafel, Chambray, and Ginther are Seniors and they will be missed but the others will all be back with great expectations for next year.
