National Honor Society Entertainment drive very successful

Students of Natoma High School's National Honor Society conducted an Entertainment Drive to benefit hospitals and nursing facilities in Russell, Plainville, Osborne, and Alton communities.  The students asked patrons of USD 399 to donate new or gently used items to help entertain nursing home residents and hospital patients.  The community generously responded with hundreds of items, filling many boxes at various collection centers around Natoma.  Some of the items donated include word puzzles, DVD’s, board games, Wii games, stuffed animals, and holiday decor.  After collecting the items, the National Honor Society students sorted the items according to the needs of each facility, and then delivered the items to the various locations.  Since the focus of National Honor Society is service and leadership, this drive gave students and patrons a charitable opportunity benefiting both the young and elderly.  The Entertainment Drive lasted from January 12 - February 16.
