BOYS CLAIM STATE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP!!

On Saturday November 1st the Natoma Cross Country team traveled 3 hours east to Wamego KS, to participate at the state meet for the 2nd consecutive year in a row.   Led by Coach Tom Ginther, the boy’s team took first place overall at the meet, ending the 32 year drought of a state title in Natoma.  Winning by a fair margin of 11 points, Natoma boys redeemed themselves from last year’s 3rd place by beating previous champs Pike Valley. Individual’s senior Jacob Chambray who placed 5th overall at state, ran his personal best all year with a time of 17:40 followed by junior Joseph Ratt who also ran his best time of 18:04 and placed 10th, led the team to a decisive state title win along with junior Dean Masters who placed 23rd and senior Bryce Ginther who placed 31st.  Grady Dickerson and James Maupin finished at 42nd and 60th, respectively. 

On the girls side Kayley Chrisler placed in the top 20 as well receiving a medal for 19th place as well as running her personal best time of 17:47.  The Natoma Cross Country team took 7 athletes to the state meet and each one left with a state medal in their hand.  Congratulations on an amazing outcome and for winning the Cross Country 1A boys state title of 2014.
