Natoma High School hosted a Scholar's Bowl meeting on Friday November 13th. Natoma welcomed teams from Stockton, Lincoln, Palco, Hill City, Lucas-Lurray, Russel, TMP, and Elis, which made a total of fourteen teams, Natoma included. The High School's participants were divided in three teams. "Natoma 1" was all made up of seniors, while "Natoma 2" was combined juniors with one sophomore, Corey Dunlap. At last, "Natoma 3" was the Freshmen and Sophomores.
Out of the six rounds, "Natoma 1" won four. "Natoma 2" unfortunately went 0-6 just as "Natoma 3" did. "We didn't answer many questions, but we had a lot of fun," said Sophomore Lakin Pfortmiller, from "Natoma 3". Even if any of our teams were part of the top 2 teams for the finals, they played well and did their best. The members of the Scholar's Bowl club meet every Monday at 7:30 am to practice and get themselves ready for the meets. "The most important practice is just learning things in and out of school, " said Pfortmiller.
Coach Chris Broeckelman commented, "We had some good teams and good competition."
