Cross Country Team Puts Up State Titles Sign

If you thought that after cross country season, you'd seen the last of the 1A state champs, you were wrong. On the morning of February 7th, the boys (James Maupin, Bryce Ginther, Dean Masters, Jacob Chambray, and of course, Coach Tom Ginther) put up a new state titles sign just outside of town. With the help of Natoma citizens Paul Hachmeister, who lent his trailer for the boys to haul the sign around in, John Clark, who graciously donated the land for the sign to be put on, and Craig Hitschmann, who gave his time (and his tractor) to putting up the sign.

The cross country team paid for the sign with extra money that they had from fundraising, and they had Leon's Welding in Hays make the sign. The team's reasoning for putting up the new sign was that the old state titles sign fell down, and had to be replaced. For now, that's all about what happened with our 1A cross country state champions, but I'm sure this isn't the final chapter you'll read out of their book.
