Tigers finish year as Sub-State Runner-up
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Tiger boys basketball season came to an end in the sub-state championship game. After a 2 win, 8 loss start most people would not have given the boys much of a chance to end up in this game. But the players, coaches, and a few others believed in the fight they still had in them. Over the course of the next 13 games, the team won 10 games and lost 3 giving them a final record of 12-11 (the first winning season since the 2007-08 year). In the championship game, St. John's jumped out to a 20-7 first quarter lead. The coaches challenged the team to cut their lead to less than ten points by half-time. They not only did that, they overcame the entire deficit to knot the game at 30-30 at the half. St. John's third quarter was too much to overcome in the fourth but the boys stayed competitive and made the other team earn their right to play at State. Before the game, the boys were told to BELIEVE that they could play with this team. Again, most people might have thought it wouldn't be much of a game but the boys bought in and went out and put up a great effort. Thank you to those who came to SUPPORT the Tigers in the awesome finish to the season. Also thank you to those that made the trip on Thursday in our win over Sylvan-Lucas solely to support OUR team!
