Physics Lab Experiment

The physics class studied about rotational inertia (if the mass is to the outside the object will travel slower, if its in the middle it will travel faster), in this experiment they prove their hypothesis correct. Through rolling cans that each student made, the class learned how the distribution of weight can affect a rolling object. This lab is done each year in the physics class taught by Mr. Ginther. Each student was told to make a can that would travel down the ramp quickly, Austin Ginther was the overall winner of the races. The next part of the project had students make a can that would travel down the ramp slowly, Corey Dunlap was the victor in this competition. "It was a really cool experiment and we got a chance to observe everything he had been learning first hand," stated senior Jared Hachmeister.
