Natoma Wins Regionals

The Tigers traveled to Logan on October 17th for a chance to go to sub-state. The first match for the Tigers was against the Cougars of Lucas-Luray. In the first set, the Cougars fought well, but the Tigers emerged victorious. In the second set of the match, the Tigers and Cougars both showed fire and determination, but the Tigers were victorious again. Eastin Casey (12) had 11 assists, 5 digs, and one kill for the Tigers. Sandra Richmond (12) had 8 assists, 6 digs, 1 kill, and 1 ace. Since the Tigers had a bye, they were ranked number one. They only had to win one match to advance to sub-state. They won both sets by the scores of 25-9, and 25-18.
After Northern Valley beat Thunder Ridge, they also advanced to the finals. The Tigers and Huskies would go head to head for first place. Throughout the match, Bailey Pfortmiller (11) had 4 digs, 7 kills, 5 aces, and 3 blocks. In the first set, the Tigers fought hard to stay ahead of the Huskies, but the score kept going back and forth. The Tigers won a hard fought victory in the first set with a score of 27-25 and really fired up for the second set. Danica Casey (9) had 3 digs, 2 kills, 1 ace, and 3 blocks. When the second set started, the Tigers stayed ahead most of the time, but still had to beat a tough team from Northern Valley. The Tigers came out victorious once again with a score of 25-17, which earned the Tigers the Regional Championship.
