October 29, 2009

“Friday Night Fever” was prevalent throughout the week of October the 5th as students at USD #399 displayed their Tiger pride throughout Spirit Week. On Monday, some students stuck out amongst others as they sported their nerd clothes and sweater-vests. On Tuesday, students as well as teachers dressed up as what they want their future occupation to be. History teacher Mr. Adam Long showed his spirit in dressing up as a duck hunter.

Wednesday proved to be one of the more popular days during Spirit Week as students got to roll out of bed of bed to come to school. Many of the students participated in Pajama Day on Wednesday. Some of the students displayed their normal sleep-wear, while others had a little more fun. 8th grade student Mariah Bader sported her footsy pajamas as part of Pajama day. On Thursday students had the opportunity to dress up as twins.

Lastly, on Friday was Red and White day. Students decked themselves in multitudes of clothing red and white completely. Classes in the high school stayed busy on Friday as they decorated their floats for the parade. The work paid off for the Freshmen float as they got first place, and the Sophomores coming in second place.

The ceremony for the King and Queen crowning took place on Friday at 6:30 at the Tiger field. Royalty for this year were Seniors Eastin Casey, Ivy Nguyen, Brynae Thompson, and Sandra Richmond. The king candidates were Mason Angel, Lincoln Griffin, Justin Hashenberger, and Brian Bear. Homecoming Queen and King for 2009 Homecoming were Brynae Thompson and Brian Bear.
