Kansas Independent Colleges and Universities
Kansas Independent Colleges are often referred to as
“private colleges”. They include a group of four-year institutions
as well as two-year institutions. Students who are preparing to
choose where they will continue their education can take the
opportunity to explore these institutions to see what they have to
offer to them. Included in this list of schools is the oldest
college in the state, Baker University established in 1858. The
enrollments of the colleges vary from 250 to as large as 3,500. This
enables students be selective in the size of school that they would
like. They also vary in the size of communities that they are found,
from urban environments to small, rural communities.
